I recently purchased the Luna Bean Hand Casting Kit for my partner and myself, and we had a great experience using it. The kit is designed specifically for couples and it comes with everything you need to create a beautiful and unique keepsake. The step 1 alginate molding material is easy to work with and allowed us to capture every fine detail of our hands. The kit includes a large plastic molding bucket, step 1 molding powder, step 2 casting stone, sandpapers, demolding sticks, detailing sticks, a plastic sculpting knife, gloves, detailing pin, and a detailed instructional booklet in both English and Spanish. There is also a full-length instructional video available online, which was really helpful in guiding us through the process.
We found the kit to be fun and easy to use, and the larger bucket size and additional materials included made it perfect for casting our hands together. The end result was a beautiful and detailed cast of our hands that we will cherish for years to come. The kit claims to be able to cast up to 2 adult hands, 2 adults and 1 small child, or 2-4 young children, which provides a lot of versatility for different types of family casts.
The only downside we found was that the molding and casting process can be a bit messy, but this was to be expected with any casting kit.
